Why Mayagüez
Needs This Masjid

Mayagüez is Puerto Rico's third-largest city with a growing Muslim community - yet no permanent place of worship. Families are praying in makeshift spaces. Children have no Islamic center to grow up in. This changes now.

Growing Muslim Community

The Muslim population in Mayagüez and surrounding municipalities has been growing steadily - but lacks the infrastructure to sustain and grow the community.

No Permanent Masjid

The nearest established mosque is far from the city center. Families in Mayagüez have no local, permanent place to perform Friday prayers, celebrate Eid, or gather for Islamic education.

Children Without an Islamic Home

Without a masjid, Muslim children in Mayagüez grow up without a community center for Quran classes, Islamic education, or a sense of belonging.

What We're Building

More than a building - a spiritual home for the Muslim families of Mayagüez.

Main Prayer Hall

A spacious prayer hall accommodating the community for all five daily prayers, Friday Jumu'ah, and Eid celebrations.

Quran Library

A dedicated library stocked with Qurans, Islamic books, and educational materials for adults and children.

Wudu Area

Proper wudu (ablution) facilities for men and women - essential for the spiritual preparation before prayer.

Islamic Classroom

A classroom for Quran memorization, Arabic language, Islamic studies, and youth programs.

Sisters' Section

A dedicated, private, and welcoming space for Muslimahs to pray and participate fully in the community.

Community Hall

A multipurpose space for community gatherings, Nikah ceremonies, iftars, and outreach programs.
