Everything you need to cover the Mutah Beale Foundation and the Mayagüez Masjid project. Press kit, bio, images, and booking information.
Mutah Beale - known to the world as Napoleon - was a member of the Outlawz, the rap group founded by Tupac Shakur. He performed alongside Tupac on albums and tours, and was one of the few people by his side during the final years of his life.
After Tupac's death in 1996, Mutah began a journey that took him far from the music industry. He embraced Islam, moved to Saudi Arabia and Medina, studied the religion deeply, and dedicated his life to serving Allah and his community.
Today, Mutah lives as a devoted Muslim, father, and philanthropist. His mission: to build Islamic infrastructure in places the world has forgotten - starting with the first permanent masjid in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
"I left the fame. I left the music. I left everything. And I found something that none of that could ever give me - peace. Now I want to build something that outlasts all of us."Mutah Beale (Napoleon) - Founder, Mutah Beale Foundation
The remarkable transformation of Napoleon - Tupac Shakur's bandmate - who left fame behind to dedicate his life to Islam and is now building Puerto Rico's first mosque.
Puerto Rico's Muslim community in Mayagüez - the island's third-largest city - has no permanent mosque. Families drive over an hour for Friday prayer. The Mutah Beale Foundation is changing that with a $500,000 build campaign.
Mutah lost his parents young. Islam gave him the concept of sadaqah jariyah - ongoing charity that earns reward even after death. Every masjid he builds is an act of love for the people he couldn't save while they were here.
Muslim communities are growing across Latin America and the Caribbean - but Islamic infrastructure has not kept pace. Mutah Beale's foundation is the first serious effort to build a permanent masjid in Puerto Rico's third-largest city.
No celebrity endorsements. No major donors. Just a global community of Muslims giving $25 and $50 at a time - because they believe in the reward of building a house of Allah. A story about grassroots Islamic philanthropy in 2026.
